The first of the three services we will look at is the fire and rescue service. This is perhaps the most dangerous and physically straining option of the three. Lastly, the ambulance service and the accident and emergency units offer less physically challenging, but potentially more mentally challenging roles. Qualifications like university degrees are more beneficial here than physical strengths. Ambulance drivers are needed to have excellent driving skills and a range of medical skills in order to try and treat or assist people at the scene of an incident. When worst arises and patients are brought into A&E the doctors and nurses here are needed to be composed and work well under pressure yet also work quick and efficiently. Career Choices here certainly aren’t for the faint hearted, sometimes dealing with life or death situations. If you were considering Careers here it is more common to work your way up through another role within the hospital to demonstrate your capabilities.
